I want to refine my skin’s tone and support collagen for long-term radiance and strength.

What is LaseMD Ultra and How Can It Improve My Skin?

LaseMD Ultra is a non-ablative fractional laser resurfacing treatment that delivers precise energy below the skin’s surface to stimulate collagen and elastin growth, treat pigmentation, improve texture, and rejuvenate the skin—all with minimal downtime. By creating microscopic channels (micro-injuries) in the skin, it triggers the body’s natural healing response while also allowing for enhanced absorption of serums and skincare applied afterward.

Dr. Reyes-Villa, Olga Dzhulay, RN-BSN, and the Cataleya Aesthetics team are pleased to offer LaseMD Ultra. Contact us to learn more or to request your appointment at (408) 613-2899 or conveniently book online through our website.

LaseMD Ultra

  • Reduces unwanted pigmentation:
    • Sunspots, age spots, freckles
    • Melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • Helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles by boosting collagen and elastin production
  • Improves skin texture: reduces large pores and smooths rough or coarse skin
  • Minimizes acne scars and marks left from breakouts
  • Brightens complexion and reduces dullness
  • Customizable depth/intensity: gentle “glow” treatments or more intensive correction
  • Very little downtime compared to ablative lasers

What Makes LaseMD Ultra Different?

LaseMD Ultra (by Lutronic) uses fractional laser technology to create microchannels beneath the skin’s surface—leaving most of the skin intact. This means shorter recovery time, lower risk, and greater comfort.

Each treatment is paired with specialized Lutronic serums, formulated with active ingredients to target specific concerns such as pigment, acne and redness, or anti-aging. These serums penetrate deeply through the laser-created microchannels, enhancing and personalizing your results.

LaseMD Ultra is also versatile: it can be used on multiple areas (face, neck, chest, hands, arms) and adjusted in strength—ranging from light “glow” treatments to more intensive sessions addressing sun damage, pigmentation, and lines.

Am I a candidate for LaseMD Ultra?

LaseMD Ultra works best for clients with:

  • Mild to moderate photo-damage or sunspots
  • Fine lines or early wrinkles
  • Acne scars or post-inflammatory pigment
  • Uneven skin tone or texture
  • Large pores
  • Melasma (requires individualized evaluation and preparation)

When is LaseMD Ultra contraindicated?

  • Active skin infection or open wounds in the treatment area
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

What areas can be treated?

Face, neck, décolleté (chest), hands, arms, and other areas with visible sun damage, pigmentation, or textural concerns.

How many sessions are required?

Noticeable results often appear after just one treatment, though 2–3 sessions spaced 6 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results.

Smoother texture and brighter tone can appear within 1–2 weeks. Pigmented spots may darken and flake away over several days, while collagen remodeling continues for weeks after treatment.

  • Dryness or a sandpaper-like texture for a few days
  • Darkening and flaking of pigmented spots
  • Rarely, pigmentation changes (hypo- or hyperpigmentation)

Pre-Treatment Guidelines

  • Avoid tanning and sun exposure for at least 3–4 weeks before treatment
  • Pause retinols, acids, and other strong topicals 3–5 days before treatment
  • Arrive with clean skin (no makeup, lotions, or sunscreen)
  • Numbing cream may be applied before treatment if needed
